Summer Celebration Baskets
Our first year of homeschool has come to an end, and I have truly loved our days together. We plan to do some light school during the summer and get back to our multiple subject days in August, but I wanted to do something special to end the school year. It seemed especially important this year with all the closings and abnormalities because of COVID-19. So… we started a tradition – summer celebration baskets!
It sounds a bit fancier than it is, but it was a fun things for the kids nonetheless! I got the idea from my friend Alicia, and I simply packed up all their favorite things about summer and let them open them as a gift! Throw in the bug spray, sunscreen, and educational things too. Just something to celebrate and commemorate the end of the school year and beginning of summer!
A few ideas to get you started and most of what was in our kids’ baskets:
-
New swimsuits and rash guards – we also bought and love these sustainable suits!
-
Glow bracelets
-
Eco dough + Eco chalk
-
Maze books, activity books and/or Summer BrainQuest books
-
Little treats like juice boxes and gummies
-
Fun popsicle molds (I love letting them pick a recipe!)
-
NingXia Red packets to freeze for slushies
-
Our favorite mineral sunscreen + insect repellent
-
Pack it all up in a cute basket! This one is cute too!
It doesn’t take much to bring a little joy to our kids days, and this was such an easy way to celebrate! Tag me on Instagram if you make them!
