Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here!
Hello and welcome to our home! I’m Ashley, a wife, mama, clinical pharmacist, natural health expert, homemaker and sourdough enthusiast. I live in the Southeast with my three children and husband and spend my days gardening, homeschooling, baking bread, snuggling children, and searching for the small joys that each day holds.
In 2016 I left full time clinical pharmacy to pursue a different life – a slower one. I’m happiest out on our land, coffee in hand, bread in the oven, babes and chickens at my feet. I love encouraging and empowering other women, especially mamas, with beauty in simplicity and natural tools and practices for our health and homes.
Baking is therapeutic for me. I love the feeling of creating something from scratch and providing my family with a delicious meal that I made myself. It is so rewarding to me! An afternoon I the kitchen with a cup of coffee and beeswax candle sounds lovely to me. We can create these moments of beauty every day with simple steps, too! And that’s what I hope to bring to this space. Recipes that you can love, make repeatedly, and share with your loved ones.
As homemakers, we have the opportunity to create the atmosphere we desire. In our home, we desire an atmosphere of welcoming, of joy, peace and love, so that is what you will find in this space. And I hope it brings some to you as well!
A few fun facts about me…
- I love early mornings – beeswax candles lighting a dim kitchen, the smell of coffee brewing, the quiet moments before the household awakens.
- I am a retired ballerina. I almost went to graduate school to get a Master of Fine Arts in Dance! I went to pharmacy school instead, which led me towards the path of holistic health.
- I believe that natural and conventional health tools can co-exist. They are all tools in our toolbox; we simply reach for some before others!
- Our two youngest babes were born in the water at our local birth center – I loved water birth!
- My husband and I met in middle school and were friends throughout high school, then started dating after college. I love that I have known him and his family for so long!
- The Christmas season is a favorite for me. I love twinkle lights and garlands and cozy evenings beside the fire with my family. We take the month off of school to do crafts, bake goods for our neighbors, go caroling, and just enjoy the season together. It is something I look forward to every year!
