Bergamot + Mint Sea Salt Scrub
One of my favorite things about summer is walking around barefoot. In fact, you will find me most Saturdays on our back patio, shoeless, in the hammock swing, with a book in hand. E loves being outside, so we spend a lot of time in our swings, armed with a large outdoor fan and our natural repellent. But all that walking around barefoot, and even just daily wear and tear on our feet can often leave them calloused. I’ve been using this bergamot mint sea salt scrub on my feet, and it is divine. Just the right amount of exfoliation, and the peppermint lends a nice tingle. This would also be great for getting smooth summer legs!
Bergamot + Mint Sea Salt Scrub
1 cup coarse sea salt
1/4 cup almond oil or fractionated coconut oil
4 drops bergamot essential oil
2 drops peppermint essential oil
Place the sea salt in a medium bowl and slowly mix in the almond or coconut oil. Add the essential oils and stir well to combine. Store in a glass jar.
To use: scoop out some of the mixture and rub onto desired area, using slight pressure to gently exfoliate the skin. If using on the feet, pay particular attention to the heels, pads of the feet and any calloused areas. Allow the scrub to sit for 5-10 minutes, then soak off in a tub or foot bath. This is a great way to create a spa-like experience at home! Added bonus: set up your diffuser with your favorite oil for relaxing. I like lavender, Idaho balsam fir, Peace & Calming, or Joy.
